I’m going to be upset if the release date for the paperback of The Blackwell Companion to Natural Theology gets pushed back one more time. Why are you doing this to me?? (I can’t actually buy it at the moment, anyway, but still).

I forgot to cancel my netflix account before the free trial ended and I was charged for another month.
First world problems. But honestly that sucks. Maybe they have a good policy about it, like Amazon did with my Prime free trial that I ended up having them revoke the charges for because I did the same thing.

The Screwtape Letters is coming to Sacramento! I totally want to gooooo!
I feel really awful. I shouldn’t have enrolled myself in four upper division philosophy courses in one semester, especially since I’ve never taken even one upper division philosophy course before. I’ve caved on only the first of four papers for my Knowledge & Understanding class. I just emailed my professor asking him if I should drop it. On the first day he said it would...

If you need me to help, sure :) Of course, it’s been a while since I had to think on the subject, I might not be much help, but I can try to help if you need me to.
Well, if you’re interested, this is the article I have to critique.

Yep, but I’ve never had to write an essay on it (thankfully).
I’m finding it helpful, but tedious, to map out the paper I’m critiquing…ugh. Perhaps you could help if I get stuck?

Ouch, contextualism essays are not fun :/
You’re familiar with contextualism?
This critical essay I have to do for my Knowledge & Understanding class on contextualism is killing me.
Pro-Life Apologetics Materials
Just finished Scott Klusendorf’s The Case for Life: Equipping Christians to Engage the Culture. I would recommend the book, but you can find all of its contents for free online:
Some short articles from Scott Klusendorf’s website “Life Training Institute.”
Here is a pdf titled “Advanced Pro-Life Apologetics” by Klusendorf that covers all the same topics as the...

Thanks, man.
My dad on the phone: “I’m sorry you got accosted…it’s a rough world out there, son.”
He makes me laugh.
After texting my dad about getting punched in the face today this is what he sends me: “Im sorry u had to go thru that. Its a ruff world out there. I can’t protect u” lol

That’s pretty frightening. :/ Do you think you’ll need stitches? You have been attending to your wounds, right? Did they follow you home? Praying for you :(
Nah, it’s not bleeding enough for stitches. Kinda, sorta. I’ve been bad about putting ice on it and I haven’t washed my mouth...

So glad you’re okay! but yeah. Probably should have called the police. Again, glad you’re okay.
Yeah, I was really upset and confused at first, then I just thanked God that the situation wasn’t much worse. Thanks for the concern, guys.

You probably shouldn’t go down that alley anymore… I’m glad you’re okay!
Unless I want to severely inconvenience myself and increase my trip time, then I have to take that way. It’s not actually an alley but I mean it’s this narrow walkway that you have to take because there’s no...

Confessions of a functional atheist - Mark... →
One of the accusations against Christians is that we have a psychological need to believe a fantasy. In other words, the atheist thinks that we make up a belief in God to provide comfort against the unknown. Our belief in God is like whistling as we pass through the graveyard. It doesn’t provide any real benefit but it makes us feel better.
Honesty (the premise of this blog) requires that I get...

Opposition to Abortion Need Not be Religiously...
It is commonly assumed that opposition to abortion can be based only on religious premises. To show that this assumption is false, only one counterexample is needed. What follows is an anti-abortion argument that does not invoke any religious tenet: (1) Infanticide is morally wrong; (2) There is no morally relevant difference between abortion and infanticide; ergo, (3) Abortion is morally wrong. ...
